Ahh Toots first opened in Bristol’s vibrant St Nicholas Market during the summer of 2014 by owner, baker and cake maker Tam who had a childhood dream to open a tea shop.
Over the years AhhToots has become a market favourite among locals and tourists alike with daily offerings of creamy coffees, legendary sausage rolls, daily specials and a cart loaded with sweet treats for all tastes.
The dream evolved over 2 decades of hard work which involved collecting enough non-matching china, vintage furniture and limited edition marmite jars to populate the café.
Whilst acquiring enough cups and saucers to run a business, Tam worked hard between highly acclaimed bakeries and delis both in London and Bristol. In combining her talent in fine art with a passion for baking, Tam has developed her own unique style that is Ahh Toots.
In 2019 Amy joined the business which brought an exciting new dimension to what is Ahh Toots. Amy has a solid background working as a pastry chef in Michelin starred restaurants across the south west beginning her career working for Michael Caines in 2013.
At Ahh Toots she brings her skills in finessed fine dining along with her passion for creating the perfect sourdough, doughnuts to die for and did we mention the ice cream making?!
With all this talent in the house it was time to expand from our market shed, but don’t worry it’s still business as usual at St Nicks Market!
2020 marks the opening of our second premises: Ahh Toots at Christmas Steps or Toots Two as we like to call it! Our new café in the former ‘Chippy’ on Bristol’s iconic street of independents is now our cake baking HQ along with café space serving great coffees, delicious lunches, afternoon tea and the occasional fish supper with a twist!
